Suggestions for Care

Naked Leather

Because of its unique look and softness, periodic care is required.

Black Naked

Treat at three month intervals with a PREMIUM leather conditioner. We recommend LEXOL-NF. The best way to apply is to rub into the leather with your fingers until the product feels dry to the touch. Mink oil may be used, apply in the same manner described.

Brown Naked

Treat at three month intervals.  Because of a different dye process use CAVALIER PROTECT-ALL SPRAY ONLY!  Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use.

Note

Other leather conditioners can be used, BUT their use will DARKEN the color of the product.

Finished Leather

Very different than naked leather in its appearance and its care requirements.  Treat annually with a PREMIUM leather conditioner.  We recommend LEXOL. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use.

Suede Leather

Unique and very similar to naked leather.  Periodic care is required and should be performed at three month intervals. Treat with a rain and stain repellent. We recommend CAVALIER PROTECT-ALL SPRAY. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use.

Zippers and Snaps

Brass and Aluminum require minor lubrication semiannually.  Any DRY lubricant may be used. We recommend silicone.  Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use.  Tip! “Soap Slivers” work well as a dry lubricant.

If Cleaning is Desired

Do Not - Use solvents or harsh chemicals

Do - Carefully follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use, before attempting to use any leather cleaner.

Do - Take to a professional cleaning establishment skilled and familiar in the cleaning of quality leather apparel.

Leather Storage

Leather should be stored in a WELL VENTILATED closet and covered with a cloth to prevent dust accumulation.  Plastic bags or film wrap should not be used, since they do not allow the leather to breathe. Leather garments should be hung on a padded hanger so they will retain their shape.
